Christmas is right around the corner, and Santa’s coming to town. People are adding things to their Christmas lists left and right, so we were curious about the items people added. We asked some teachers and students from the Hayward High School to see what the top item on their Christmas list was. We divided it into categories and will share them with you so you can get more ideas for your Christmas list!
Mr. Eckstrom and Mr. Botten both asked for a pretty boring item; though they claim it’s necessary, they want socks waiting for them under their Christmas trees. Many other male teachers requested hunting and fishing items. Mr. Paine wants a wall tent for hunting and Mr. Skogskberg wants a crossbow. If you know Mr. Dieckman, you know that he loves hunting. His top item is a duck hunting trip that’s all paid for. Mr. Anderson wants to see a new boat motor when he wakes up on Christmas morning. It sure sounds like most of the male teachers wish for materialistic items. Now to compare them to the male high school students. Students such as Dawson Jorzak and Ben Munich want new clothes. Bradley Young’s top item is new high jump spikes for his shoes. However, the main present that most of our interviewees hope for this year are shoes.
Unlike the male teachers and staff at the school that hope for more materialistic things, female staff members wish for much more sentimental things. Mrs. Gay told us that she wants good health during this Christmas season. Ms. Hansen (the secretary) said that she wants to spend the holiday with family. Mrs. Hansen (the science teacher) said that her top item is for her baby boy to be healthy again. Another common theme that we saw from the female teachers was cooking and baking items. For example, Mrs. Egger wants new cookie sheets, Ms. Baxter wants a new dish set, and Mrs. Shilling wants a new crockpot. As for female high school students, there was a wide variety of things to consider. Something popular was a new camera; Brianna Hexum and Katie Buchman both hope for one on Christmas morning. Clothing, shoes, and makeup are always top-wanted items for female highschoolers on their Christmas list. Lastly, another common wish for Christmas gifts from teenage girls is electronics. Bailey Tadysak is wishing for AirPod max headphones, and Abby Stone wants an iPad she can use for college and her everyday life.
It sounds like everyone is wishing for something different this Christmas season! We hope you found this helpful if you haven’t made your Christmas list yet. Hopefully you’ll add some wishes from the Hayward High School students and staff lists to your Christmas own list. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
