For people who haven’t joined a club yet or are thinking of joining a club, might I suggest the Hayward Art Club? Out of all the clubs that Hayward offers, the Art Club has been the most welcoming community in the school. The club offers many opportunities to form valuable connections and forge new friendships. The club allows you to express your creativity and offers some fun craft ideas, such as new decor for your locker. There are also many friendly and welcoming faces to greet you in the club.

Another benefit of Art Club is that they take some fun art-related trips. This year, our big fall trip was to the Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis. After the tour and workshop at the museum, we visited the temporary outdoor exhibit on Raspberry Island on the Mississippi River. After that, we had lunch and visited the state capitol and their outdoor gardens, sculptures, and indoor art exhibit called “Portraits of Indigenous Authors and Artists.” We also stopped at the fan-favorite Franconia Sculpture Garden on the way home.

In summary I believe that the Art Club is a club very much worth joining or to at least just give it a try and see if you like it or not. Mrs. Egger, Art Club’s advisor, said, “Anyone can join Art Club at any time. We work concessions to pay for trips and help students pay for their personal costs.” Check announcements and club schedules to see when we meet next. We hope to see you there!
