Spanish Club is a very active club in both the community and helping out younger students.
There are a variety of activities to participate in if you join. Throughout the whole year, there are different opportunities you will get to volunteer. Many of these opportunities give you a chance to engage with the community and the younger grades that you might not normally get.
In upcoming events, the club members will be helping out with the preparations for the 2nd grade Halloween parade. They will be helping out with the costumes and walking the kids over to the actual parade. Also, the club members will be helping out with the skate parties held for the 5th graders throughout the school year. For this, you will get a chance to help tie the skates and supervise. During Christmas time, you could get a chance to have fun and help out the 3rd graders with making their gingerbread houses. The club members will also be going over to Water’s Edge to give out cards and play games with the residents there. Not a lot of high schoolers spend time working with senior citizens, so this is a great chance to engage with them and brighten their days. Throughout the year club members will also be able to volunteer to work concessions. All of these activities give you a good chance to better know your community, complete service projects, and have fun.
By being an active member in Spanish club, you could have a chance to go on a fun trip towards the end of the year. You will also be able to learn valuable life skills such as leadership and communicating with others. If this sounds fun to you, make sure to talk with Senora Hansen about joining the Spanish Club!
