Another Christmas choir concert in the books! The choir had a lot of fun this year with the songs they sang. The mixed choir and treble choir put a lot of effort into it all this year and wow’d the crowd. The songs that the mixed choir performed this year included: “The Wind in The Hemlock,” “Hydom Tiddlydom,” “The Hands That First Held Mary’s Child,” “Gloucestershire Wassail.” The treble choir performed: “The First Noel,” “See, Amid the Winter’s Snow,” “Mary, Did You Know?” and “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Everyone had a lot of fun in their respective choirs and they then merged together to perform “Lux Aurumque” and “Silent Night.”
With all the new faces in choir this year, it really was a challenge for everyone to be prepared in time for the concert. The music was first looked at and started the learning process before the Veterans Day concert. In total there are 22 students in the treble choir and 38 in the mixed choir. This is the biggest treble choir has been in a long time and the mixed choir has more guys than girls than previous years. The choir was testing the waters with some of the music performed that night as they are also going to perform “Hydom Tiddlydom” and “Wind in the Hemlock” while on their trip to Europe. They are also going to perform “Lux Aurumque” for their large group festival on March 4th.
With everything happening so close together, it makes a busy year for all of the students involved; however, all are along for the ride and are excited for everything coming up.
