The National Honor Society will be hosting its annual Spring Blood Drive on Thursday, February 27th. We are hoping to fill all of the time slots, as demand is very high! Anyone sixteen years of age or older is allowed to donate blood (as long as they meet some basic health requirements).
Why should you consider donating blood? According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs a blood donation. In order to meet this demand, Memorial Blood Centers must collect 2,000 units of blood every week! Within ten days of donating, your blood will have helped save someone in our region! That seems like a pretty good reason to donate.
If you are interested in donating blood, please talk to Mrs. Eytcheson to sign up! You’ll also want to make sure to get some quality sleep, eat a healthy meal, and drink a lot of water. NHS hopes to see you there!
