Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid released on August 31, 2007 and developed by Crypton Future Media. People use her to make songs, videos, and memes. The meme “Nyan Cat” is voiced by Hatsune Miku. She has gotten multiple holidays named after and for her. March 9th is known as “Miku Day” because the number 3 in Japan makes the “mi” and the number 9 makes the “ku” sound. On October 17th, the holiday “Disappearance Day” is also named after “Hatsune Miku,” as this is a day when if searched on Google Images and Yahoo Images would show up with unrelated images. This would soon get fixed. This entire situation would inspire “cosMo” a Vocaloid song producer to write the song “The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku” that now sits at 6 million views on the original video.
Hatsune Miku has also given multiple musicians a career in music by giving them the ability to use her voice. Some notable artists include, Deco*27 who wrote “The Vampire” (84 million views), “Rabbit Hole” (79 million views), and “Ghost Rule” (50 million views). Another artist that used her voice bank is SAWTOWNE who wrote “M@gical Cure Love Shot” (16 million views) and “Confession of a Rotten Girl” (6.7 million views). Also 32ki featuring Kasane Teto wrote “Mesmerizer” (116 million views).
What is so impressive is her reach around the world. Hatsune Miku performs at concerts such as Magical Mirai, hosted in Japan, and Miku Expo, hosted in the USA/Canada. The concerts use a hologram system to project Miku and some of her other Vocaloid friends such as Kaito, Megurine Luka, Kagamine Len and Rin, and Maiko. They also all have voice banks and people that make songs using their voices. She has made several video game appearances such as in Fortnight, Fall Guys, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, and others. She also has her own video games series called “Hatsune Miku: project DIVA”. Over 100,000 songs were made in her first year alone. Brazilian Hatsune Miku is a version of miku that inspired hundreds of artists all across the world to draw a miku for their own country. Thousands of Mikus of different backgrounds and ethnicities were made, showing worldwide popularity. Hatsune Miku has connected the world- the world is hers.
