New Faces @ HHS

Meet the new teachers and student teachers for the 2023-2024 school year.

We decided to interview some of our new staff at HHS, so they can be integrated into our wonderful school community here, and also so students can have an easier time trying to recognize them.
1) Ms. Hansen (Director of First Impressions)
Do you like teaching in a less populated area?
“I enjoy working in the office in a less populated area. I enjoy getting to know the students and the parents in a way that I wouldn’t be able to in a large school.”

2) Mr. Post (Special Education)
What is your favorite grade to teach and why?
“SENIORS!!! I like working with seniors because I want to prepare them for the ‘real world’ after they graduate.”

3) Mrs. Siverling (Spanish)
What inspired you to be a teacher?
“Working with the youth mostly. After I became a trainer I wanted to keep working with the youth here.”
4) Ms. Baxter (Special Education)
What is the best part about teaching for you?
“I like working with the students and also my coworkers.”

5) Mrs. Ince (School Counselor)
Do you like teaching in Hayward or would you rather teach somewhere else?
“I love being in Hayward. Everybody is so welcoming and supportive.”

6) Mr. Anderson (Student Teacher)
Why did you decide to teach in Hayward?
“Growing up in Exeland, I was familiar with the area and knew I wanted to settle down here (plus my wife is from Hayward!). HHS gave me the opportunity to share my passion for history with students, plus I enjoy the size of the school and its important ties to the community.”

7) Mr. Welsch (Student Teacher)
What’s your favorite part of being a teacher?
“The kids.”
