Most people learn how to use the bathroom by themselves before the age of four. That is to say, almost every person in this building has known how to use the bathroom for well over a decade, yet I find that hard to believe.
Let me be clear about a few things here:
- If you’re under the age of 70, it shouldn’t take you more than 5 minutes to use the bathroom; if it does, maybe talk to a doctor.
- After using the bathroom, there is a special handle on the side of the toilet used to flush it. Please use it.
- Please, PLEASE wash your hands. The CDC (the Centers for Disease Control) recommends that you wash your hands after changing diapers, touching garbage, and most importantly, after using the bathroom!
The following is a guide on how to properly wash your hands, in case you never learned… or somehow just forgot:
STEP 1: Wet your hands with warm, running water.
STEP 2: Apply soap to your hands, making sure to get in between your fingers, the backs of your hands, and under your fingernails.
STEP 3: Scrub your hands vigorously for 20 seconds. Try singing the ABCs to time yourself!
STEP 4: Rinse your hands with warm, running water.
And there you go, a simple, effective guide on how to properly wash your hands. The high school may never truly be clean, but following this simple guide, we may be able to mitigate some of the dirtiness that perpetuates our halls.
Please wash your hands.
