There are many restaurants in our small town, but some are definitely the best for HHS students. These are the restaurants in town that we feel may be the best choices to go to if you’re looking for a meal out.
Main Street Tacos
If you’re looking for easy fast authentic Mexican food, Main St. Tacos has what you want. They have appetizers like steak fires, drinks like horchata, or deserts like chocoflan. They are a small local restaurant located on Main St. They have great workers, wonderful service, and you’ll never have to wait twenty minutes for your food. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place to eat in the summer.
Miller’s Market
Miller’s Market has a wide variety of sandwiches and groceries/snacks. You can get cold deli sandwiches or hot-pressed ones. They have different kinds of breads, cheeses, and cold cuts, all homemade and sliced in store. They also have a wide selection of toppings and sauces you can use on your sandwich. They have quite the variety of market foods, including bagged candies, chips, and chocolate-covered pretzels.
Hayward Family Restaurant
Hayward Family Restaurant is a great place to go if you’re craving that good old diner experience. Though they can get packed, they offer daily specials, including fish fry on Fridays. They have all-day breakfast if you are feeling like pancakes are what you want for lunch or dinner. They have a family-friendly vibe and it’s very cozy and mellow. The service is good, and you never feel undervalued. They are a nice place to go sit and have a meal with your family or friends. They are located across the street from the Hayward Amusement Center (go-karts!), so it’s a great choice for grabbing food and having fun.
Panda House
Panda House is a locally-owned Chinese restaurant, known for their exotic types of food and friendly/professional atmosphere. Some of the most popular dishes are fried shrimp, Lo Mein, cream cheese wontons, wonton soup and other well-known staples. There is always something new to try, so you can explore new flavors with each visit. It’s usually a very calm and good restaurant to go to when it’s not too packed. And once you’re done eating you can just go up to the register and pay that way.
Coop’s Pizza Parloure
Coop’s is always a good choice if you’re in town. They have a bar you could go sit up at and a very delicious salad bar you could hit up as well. They have a variety of in-house made pizzas, but if that’s not what you’re looking for they have hot sandwiches, chicken strips, and many choices of appetizers. It is locally-owned and always a good choice for family dinner. The environment is friendly and welcoming (Trivia Tuesdays!) and the food always hits the spot.
