Hayward High School Concert Band is hosting a large group festival in Hayward High School Tuesday March 10th. The songs to be performed at the festival are to be, all four movements of Second Suite in the Key of F, by Gustav Holst, and Midnight on Main Street, Brian Balmages.
Besides this event, music lovers should mark their calendars for the following events. On Saturday, March 28th there will be a District Solo & Ensemble and if some students do well enough on their solos or in their ensembles they will head to the State Solo & Ensemble held on Saturday, April 2nd. HHS will also be hosting the Honor Band Festival on Friday, April 10th.
Finally, the month of May is incredibly busy for our band students. Monday, May 11th is our annual spring concert. Then on May 13th through 17th there will be a Disney trip for the students who signed up to go. On May 25th, we perform as a part of Hayward’s Memorial Day parade.
